General Responsibilities of the Bucharest Streets Administration:
To ensure the monitoring of the road system of the street network (street layout – roadway and sidewalks), the system of bridges, passages, above and underground parking lots and the signaling and traffic safety systems (traffic lights, signs and road markings) in order to ensure the safe operation of the entire system under administration;
to draw up the list of annual investment objectives (new works) regarding the modernization of the road system, traffic flow and increased road safety;
to propose and ensure, after approval, the construction of new bridges, passages and parking lots;
to draw up proposals for repair, rehabilitation and maintenance programs for the road system of the street network, the system of bridges, passages and parking lots, as well as the traffic safety systems;
to provide projects for investment works, as well as for repairs, rehabilitation and maintenance;
to contract through legal procedures regarding the execution of new works, as well as the execution of repair and maintenance works in-house or through specialized companies, ensuring technical and economic documentation, consultancy, execution, management and reception of the works;
to verify in the approved projects compliance with the execution documentation, contractual terms and the quality of the works performed for investments, as well as those for repairs, rehabilitation and maintenance, their reception and commissioning;
to carry out, by its own means, routine maintenance and repair works (street pavement - roadway and sidewalks), of bridges, road crossings and above and underground parking lots (infrastructure, superstructure and related devices), of road signaling systems and installations (traffic lights, road signs and road markings);
to exploit the means of transport and mechanization under administration, ensuring through its own forces or through specialized companies, maintenance and repair works of the entire fleet of vehicles and equipment;
to approve, coordinate, monitor and provide, where appropriate, the technical and urban development works that are carried out on the street networks under administration, in accordance with the technical prescriptions and their execution duration;
ensures the computerization of organizational structures by implementing computer programs and applications and appropriate training of personnel;
to centralize and verify in the field the proposals for public residential parking lots on the territory of Bucharest Municipality, requested by the sectors, and to submit them to the analysis of the Technical Traffic Commission for approval and classification in category;
to propose to the Technical Traffic Commission, for approval and classification in category of public parking lots of general utility on the territory of the Municipality of Bucharest;
to arrange, build and operate public parking lots for general use on the territory of the Municipality of Bucharest;
to ensure road signage for public parking lots used by public institutions on the territory of Bucharest Municipality, in accordance with the opinion of the Technical Traffic Commission;
